Job Title: Field Service Project Lead
Department: Field Service
Summary: The Field Service Project Lead acts as the point of leadership for large projects in North America. This person will oversee multiple projects simultaneously and handle internal team communications and be the customer point of contact. This position is responsible for leading a team of Field Service Techs who complete installations to meet and exceed our customer's requirements.
Responsibilities: As the Field Service Project Lead you will:
- Manage key customer accounts directly for all Field Service specific needs.
- Coordinate to ensure all installation teams are set for success.
- Manage and execute on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
- Communicate directly with Customer on daily updates and overall project status using FSL dashboard and reports.
- Act as liaison between engineering team and customers on any installation/system issues.
- Directly communicate with VP of Field Operations to schedule Field Service teams with at least two weeks advance notice.
- Conduct onsite reviews with installation teams to conduct training, QC inspections and customer reviews.
- Own all Field Service documents inclusive of installation manuals executed with Engineering.
- Work with Engineering on all kit development to ensure optimized BOM’s and design to support all vehicle installs.
- Lead project KPI's (actual vs budget, OTD, FTP)
- Diagnose technical and customer issues/problems while maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical training on our products.
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings.
- Accurately document field changes and processes in support of future product modifications, ongoing service support and potential warranty claims.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports and Sales Force ticket updates.
- Possess strong knowledge regarding all products manufactured by United Safety and United Safety suppliers.
- Build positive relationships with customers.
- Perform projects, as requested, that are concerned with product offerings, product process and documentation improvement, and company growth.
- Schedule travel efficiently and process expenses appropriately.
- Observe all company rules and safety practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience as a technician or equivalent mechanical ability; other relevant experience will be considered.
- Automotive or transit experience preferred.
- Proficient at reading blueprints and the use of hand tools or other tools.
- Able to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
- Able to lift 50lbs and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
- Flexible regarding working hours and travel.
- Able to travel extensively including weekends and overnight.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Excellent communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used for decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems.
