They will be driven, resourceful and not feel intimidated by significant technical challenges. The successful candidate will work as part of an established team who work together to achieve excellent results. Our ideal candidate will be motivated, pro-active and take pride in his or her code.</p> <p>They will want to take ownership of the features they are working on, proactively drive improvements in software design and development practices, and work with more junior members of the team to help develop their skills and optimize the performance of the team over time.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with analysis and documentation of technical requirements and user stories for assigned features, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent.</li> <li>To a reasonable degree of accuracy, definition, and estimation of development tasks for assigned features and user stories.</li> <li>Design, code, review and test assigned features and user stories, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent.</li> <li>Contribute to the quality assurance/testing strategy for assigned features and perform technical tasks as required to support that strategy, including development of unit tests, test harnesses, tools, and automation hooks.</li> <li>Assist with production of high quality operational and system documentation as required.</li> <li>Assisting with creation and maintenance of databases, environments, processes, standards, and tools supporting development and release activities, as required</li> <li>Assisting with analysis and resolution of Tier 3 support issues</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Experience/Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years’ experience in a hands-on development role at a commercial software company</li> <li>3+ years’ experience with MS SQL</li> <li>Experience working in an AWS cloud infrastructure</li> <li>Good written and oral communications</li> <li>Solid troubleshooting ability and skills</li> <li>Ability to contribute to the effectiveness of a high-performing agile team</li> <li>Successfully manage own workload, and take personal responsibility and ownership for delivery, behaviours, and self-improvement</li> <li>Complete honesty and integrity</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred but not essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, Node JS, Python, React, Typescript, Redux</li> <li>Experience with AWS CDK</li> <li>Experience designing, creating, and managing release pipelines</li> <li>Experience working with SOA/ESB/Message Queues/Serverless</li> <li>Experience with Agile/SCRUM/Lean software development</li> <li>Eagerness to learn more about new languages and frameworks</li> <li>Familiarity with Source Code Control Systems (e.g., Git/GitHub)</li> <li>Understanding of functional programming techniques</li> <li>Test Driven Development experience</li> </ul><p><strong>What Diligent Offers You</strong> </p> <ul> <li><strong>Creativity is ingrained in our culture.</strong> We are innovative collaborators by nature.
