Software Engineer, On-Device Machine Learning, Silicon

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms (e.g. C++).
  
• 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning or natural language processing.
  
• Experience with Large Language Models, NLP, or imaging/computer vision.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  
• Experience in Android development.
  
• Experience with performance analysis and debugging.
  
• Experience with on-device Machine Learning.
  
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

We are the team that builds Google Tensor - Google’s first custom System-on-Chip (SoC) that powers the latest Pixel phones. Our goal is to productize the latest ML innovations and research by delivering computing hardware and software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to prototype novel machine learning applications on Tensor System-on-Chip (SoC).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Prototype and develop on device ML systems.
  
• Developing applications on Android/Pixel.
  
• Workload analysis and optimize power and performance of on device ML use cases.
  
• Write product or system development code.
  
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
