Administrative Assistant III Duties:

 

Provides Assistance to Wellness and Strategic Planning Manager

 

Independently or with little oversight, assists the supervisor with management of health and wellness program, recruitment activities, and other strategic initiatives. These duties include: scheduling recruitment presentations/events based on requests or researched outreach opportunities, maintaining the recruitment calendar and assigning staff to recruitment events, organizing/maintaining recruitment related materials and equipment, maintaining recruitment software used to engage potential candidates for employment, responding to potential candidate inquiries via recruitment website, maintaining planning program calendars, auditing peer team training to ensure compliance, reviewing and preparing reports of wellness app usage, and organizing tasks, due dates, priorities, and needs for projects assigned to the section. Assists with organizing training opportunities for CISM/Peer Support and Command Staff based on needs or requirements as outlined by policy. Assist with Bureau of Administrative Services communication including newsletters, training opportunities, and section changes/updates. Reviews and coordinates implementation of statutes, research, and report preparation for strategic planning and program development.

 

Conducts Policy and Program Research

 

Independently or with little oversight, conducts detailed research related to current best practices in law enforcement wellness programs and strategic initiatives. These duties include: attending wellness symposiums and conferences, reviewing statute changes and tracking legislation, seeking out best practices across the state and/or country, and providing analysis and recommendations. Helps with program development related to additional wellness initiatives, such as outreach, recruitment, and victim advocacy, as needed. Has knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis and is able to manage data collection methods.

 

Independently or with little oversight, maintains up-to-date tracking of legislation related to all areas of law enforcement and other areas that may affect the division’s operations. Utilizes software such as Lobby Tools and websites such as flsenate.gov to review pending legislation and provide details updates to the manager, bureau chief and command staff in writing.

 

Other Administrative Duties

 

Provides assistance and/or completes other independent administrative or support tasks assigned by the chain of command.  Administrative duties may include any functions or tasks supporting the administration, operations, or functions of the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement.  Attends meetings and travels as required.  Operates and/or utilizes a variety of business and office equipment and machines including computers, photocopying equipment, scanners, calculators, etc. 

 

Reception Backup

 

Acts as backup for office receptionist responsible for greeting and directing visitors.  Receives, answers, and routes telephone and fax communications to the proper party in a timely manner.  Provides support to OALE Headquarters staff.

 

Documentation Support

 

Researches records and traces documents.  Organizes and maintains records, filing systems, databases and inventories.  Enters and reviews data for accuracy and completeness.

 

Perform other related duties as required.
