About the role

Responsibilities

The Sr. Patient Service Technician:

•             In addition to the Patient Service Technician (PST II) basic functions, the Senior level will assist supervisors with the implementation of SOPs for phlebotomy services in accordance with KSC guidelines. 

•             Communicate professionally with providers, nurses, supervisors, and patients to resolve or refer problems.

               Prepare and assist in the preparation of problem documentation and report critical issues as they occur.

•             Assist with periodic inventory counts, report shortages and problems to supervisors as they occur. 

•             With appropriate training, act as mentor and resource for the new employees, assisting with transition into the PSC work environment and the familiarity with established procedures

Salary Range: $42,697 - $52,744 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications


Education


Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and Certificate of completion from an accredited 

 

phlebotomy training program


Preferred: Associate/bachelor’s degree in related field


Experience


Required: 4 years of experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program

 

OR

 

5 years of directly related experience as phlebotomist in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital setting with 

 

1 year of waived testing and specimen processing experience in a clinical


Preferred: 8+ years of direct experience working in a Patient Service Center, clinic, or hospital setting.


License(s)


Required: Must obtain BLS through American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.


Preferred: Certified Phlebotomist and Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

 

Member of an accredited phlebotomy National Organization.


Special Skills


Required: Those hired into this position must complete the KSC review/skill validation program within 90 days 

 

of hire.

 

Able to use related equipment. 

 

Experience with computers and Windows- based software.

 

Ability to practice good customer service principles and practices


Preferred: Ability to use Microsoft software applications including Word and Excel.

 

Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.

 

Prior EPIC experience


Other 


Required: Ability to speak, write, understand English           


Preferred: Bi-lingual
