Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, CV Communications

What you will do 

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, CV Communications will lead global and U.S. communications for Amgen’s cardiovascular portfolio, shaping strategies that support growth for marketed products, prepare the organization for future cardiovascular launches, and strengthen Amgen’s leadership in cardiovascular disease. 

This global and U.S. leadership role will mobilize a high-performing team of communicators and serve as a senior strategic partner to cardiovascular and general medicine leadership. The Senior Director will be responsible for developing integrated, insight-led communications strategies that support business priorities, reinforce Amgen’s leadership in cardiovascular disease, and advance understanding of LDL-C and related cardiovascular risk factors for patients with cardiovascular disease. 

A core priority will be driving a bold communications approach aimed at addressing a major public health challenge, with a focus on partnering with internal and external stakeholders to build and execute strategic initiatives and campaigns that underscore the importance of LDL-C testing and guideline-based treatment 

The successful candidate will be an experienced healthcare communications leader with deep cardiovascular disease expertise, strong executive counsel, sound judgment, and the ability to translate scientific data, stakeholder dynamics, and business priorities into clear communications strategies. This leader will bring a strong understanding of the patient journey, confidence operating in a complex external environment, and practical experience using data, analytics, AI, digital platforms, and emerging technologies to strengthen communications impact, improve how teams work, and support more insight-led decision-making. 

This position can be based remotely within the U.S.; however, the successful candidate must be willing to travel to the company’s headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. 

Obesity communications are not directly part of this role and are led by a separate team at Amgen. 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead global and U.S. communications for Amgen’s cardiovascular portfolio, ensuring strategies are integrated, business-relevant, and aligned across key internal partners. 
  • Serve as a senior communications advisor and point of accountability to global and U.S. cardiovascular leadership teams. 
  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that support business objectives, strengthen Amgen’s cardiovascular story, and engage priority audiences across global and U.S. channels. 
  • Lead communications for marketed products, future launch readiness activities, and stakeholder-facing campaigns. 
  • Partner across Corporate Affairs, including Advocacy, Enterprise Media, Internal Communications, Digital and Social, Policy Communications, and other key functions, as well as Investor Relations, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Commercial, Government Affairs, and Value & Access, to deliver integrated strategies.
