Lunch/Playground Monitor - FTE 0.375 (15 hrs per week)

TITLE:  Lunch/Playground Monitor


CLASSIFICATION:  Non-Exempt


GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  To ensure safety and security in the lunch and playground areas.  


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:  (essential functions)

• Supervises students in the lunchroom and/or the playground, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
Skill in observing the activities of others.
Skill in communicating verbally in English and Spanish.
Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with others.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to stay alert and monitor the activities of children.  Ability to stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions.  Bilingual preferred.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  None.


REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine month. Classified Salary Schedule, Range 20
