About the role

Tech Strategy focuses on the “Why” and “Where” of technology investments and direction, providing input to Architecture for technical design and implementation of IT systems, driving the “How” and “What” of technical solutions.

Strategy and Architecture – both are different craftmanship that we need to bring closer together as they go hand in hand. It is essential for ensuring that an organization’s technology supports its overall mission and objectives, and they must be developed in concert to be effective.

As the Senior Tech Strategy Consultant, you will work in a team of 4 consultants, playing a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Technology Strategy for the organization. Strategy consultants have a strong background in technology, business acumen, and strategic thinking. In this role it’s essential to build strong relations with our business partners, understand their key value drivers and apply strong analytical skills to identify where they can leverage IT for greatest strategic impact to drive business outcomes. In this senior position, you will also have a coaching role towards the Tech Strategy Consultants and you will be involved in more complex assignments.

Key responsibilities

The Senior Tech Strategy Consultant is responsible for:

  • Collecting, analyzing and providing relevant information
  • Formulating and testing hypotheses
  • Leading proof of concept and/or pilot implementations
  • Identifying optimal technology strategy solutions to address business needs and collaborate on developing practical implementation roadmaps across multiple business and technology domains
  • Effectively communicating high-level and detailed information, and the ability to varying social style and audiences (also towards C-suite).
  • Advanced presentation and public speaking skills (C-level).
  • Coaching/ mentoring the other Tech Strategy Consultants.
  • Create expert content and take part in professional forums.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, assess technology trends, and develop strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Stay up to date of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Delve deeply into the industry and technological infrastructure within which clients operate, gaining a comprehensive understanding of clients’ technology options in the context of global, industry, economic, technological, and social trends.

Requirements

Experience/ profile:

  • 10+ years of large-scale consulting experience (preferably at a renowned consulting firm) and/or working with a frontrunning digital financial institution in the areas of IT strategy, Technology architecture, IT governance or Operating model design.
  • Proven experience in technology strategy development and execution.
  • Proven ability to engage, manage and influence different levels of stakeholders
  • Experience in coaching/ mentoring experts and a record that balances individual contribution with making those around you better
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build consensus.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Experience in writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformations.

Education:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s) in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration)

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Solid business acumen to bridge the gap between technology and strategy, ensuring that all technology initiatives support the more significant business objectives. Safeguarding that technological investments are aligned with the organization’s broader strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Be a counterpart for various product and commercial stake
