What You Will Be Doing

The Field Service Technician will work in a post-sale Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, EVSE, environment providing remote review of construction, installation, commissioning, and field service partner work for ChargePoint’s native or white-label/on-ramp products in the field. The primary scope is to monitor and perform QA/QC inspections on content and provide timely response to partners and stakeholders to ensure performance to Service Level Agreements, and Service Level Objectives. The successful candidate will possess strong technical, analytical and soft skills to support EVSE commissioning, site remediation and repairs, warranty claim investigations, and technology performance.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Perform remote support for commissioning, maintenance (scheduled and preventative), remediation, and warranty services on new and legacy installed Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
  • Provide Technical and after sales support internally and with customers during installation, commissioning, and upgrades utilizing ChargePoint’s approved methods
  • Provide training and guidance on all service-related procedures to peers and end-users
  • Ensure fulfillment of all necessary documentation and material/parts handling.
  • Follow-up on product performance issues, customer quality complaints, product failures, root cause analyses and work cross-functionally to drive to closure.
  • Collect and aggregate equipment performance data and present to cross-functional subject matter experts for resolution
  • Provide vendors with regular updates on the problem-solving progress of requests or complaints until resolution
  • Strive to be the subject matter expert and execution lead for safety, field service best practices and highest customer satisfaction
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventories
  • Generate and deliver commissioning, maintenance, and remediation reports to customers and internal resources
  • Supervise all tasks within ChargePoint’s, local, national, and customer safety guidelines
  • Assist in developing and improving processes related to improvement initiatives and serve as a feedback loop to cross-functional teams
  • Document all issues and take appropriate action to get functional or cross-functional buy in for resolution
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and software tools

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • S. Degree Electrical Engineering or Equivalent experience
  • Solutions Engineering experience preferred
  • Electrical Journeyman License or relevant experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of hands-on power/electrical systems, power electronics, software, or controls experience is required
  • A safety-first attitude is required
  • Must be customer focused, possess a positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
  • Must be able to supervise the proper use of electrical measuring devices and data capture equipment
  • Proficiency in performing software updates remotely (Linux - Windows Shell)
  • Ability to supervise the isolation, diagnosis and troubleshooting electrical problems and repairs on EVSE
  • Valid US Driver’s License required
  • Excellent conflict negotiating and active listening skills are required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and embedded code
  • English/Spanish Bilingual preferred (verbal and written), organization, plannin
