About the role

Join our team in Tangent, OR as a Mechanical/Electrical Technician! At its core, this role supports the maintenance department in mechanical and electrical service, safety and reliability while providing ongoing maintenance services.

 

Essential Job Functions:

· Identifying and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues in a production environment.

· Calibrating, programming, and maintaining electrical sensors and components.

· Performing electrical maintenance and repairs on all equipment and facilities.

· Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

· Installing and maintaining Allen Bradley based systems.

· Work on planning and implementing projects as a team member or independently.

· Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with maintenance and production staff.

· Working closely with the production, research, Quality Control, and mechanical maintenance staff on daily operations and projects.

· Verifying all electrical installations onsite meet Oregon laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Ensuring Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed, and personal protective equipment is used correctly.

· Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business.

· Meet attendance requirements.

· Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed.

· Flexibility to work rotating shifts including on-call as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays).

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

· 3+ years of relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

· Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrical License

· Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, organizational and training skills.

· Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

· Ability to read and fabricate from blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Able to become forklift certified.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Electrical, Welding, and other mechanical certification.

· Experience in servicing equipment including, but not limited to mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical.

· Computer experience, with knowledge of maintenance software, Auto Cad, Solidworks, Excel, CMMS, and other Microsoft based programs.

Working Environment:

Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Work in elevated and precarious places and able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
