Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High opened in September 2000 as a small public charter school with plans to serve approximately 450 students. HTH has evolved into an integrated network of sixteen charter schools serving approximately 6,350 students in grades K-12 across four campuses. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Expanded Learning Academic Coach for our afterschool programming during the school break. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and leading instruction, with a focus on maintaining appropriate ratios for both academic and enrichment activities. This position requires a candidate with a strong educational background, creativity, and organizational skills to ensure a well-rounded and engaging experience for students during after school programming during the regular school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning and Design- Develop comprehensive and engaging academic and enrichment curricula aligned witheducational standards.- Ensure a balanced mix of subjects and activities suitable for various age groups and skilllevels.- Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
Instructional Leadership:- Lead instructional sessions, providing guidance and support to both students and staff.- Maintain appropriate instructor-to-student ratios to ensure a safe and effective learningenvironment.- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages active participation andexploration.
Communication and Collaboration:- Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on program activitiesand participant progress.- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and community partners to enhance theoverall program.
Qualifications:- Preferred, minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or academic coaching.- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and instructional design.- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining appropriate instructor-to-student ratios.Compensation:
