Become one of our 16 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – Business Controller BA Markets

Business Area Markets is the market hub within the Vattenfall group and provides market access to the wholesale power, gas and fuel markets beside trading operations. We optimize all Vattenfall’s production assets as well as a sizeable external wind asset portfolio. We support Vattenfall’s commercially viable transition into a fossil free future.

Your daily activities:

Get a deep understanding and the role that business controlling plays in a company and take an active role as a controller. The role will provide a comprehensive view in BA Markets as well across Vattenfall. You will engage in:

• Target setting and planning process, follow up of plans as well as monthly management reporting
• Drive, develop and participate in different initiatives improving business using data capture, financial analysis, processes, benchmarking, KPIs etc.
• Participate in projects and development activities both with regards to controlling processes as well as business processes and performance.

As a Trainee - Business Controller BA Markets you recognize yourself in the following:

• Educational Background in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration/International Business Management
• Excellent English skills, local language skills are of advantage (German or Swedish)
• Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to break down and explain complex facts and issues on the recipient's terms.
• Curiosity of learning and constant development and a love of numbers

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before March 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

Location: You will be working in Business Area Markets and the position is located in Stockholm or Hamburg.
