MAHEC’s Center for OB/GYN is seeking full-time Clinical RNs- join a highly impactful and connected team! MAHEC offers competitive salary, Total Rewards, and work-life balance. OB/GYN’s clinical hours are Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm but may be open to negotiating other full-time schedule configurations for interested and qualified RN candidates.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to work collaboratively as an active member of the OB/GYN team to provide patient-centered care across the continuum. A thorough working knowledge of women’s health and OB/GYN skill set strongly preferred. Professional nursing care is delivered by telephone and in-person clinical care in accordance with established policies and procedures. In this role, the goals include providing an excellent patient experience, high-quality outcomes, and improved productivity for the team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in daily huddles with assigned patient care team(s)
  • Participates in phone triage for OB/GYN patients across the continuum
  • Participates in NST clinic with the ability to quickly identify abnormal fetal heart tracings and intervene appropriately; AWOHNN FHT credentialing not required
  • Utilizes embedded evidence-based protocols for symptom-based management
  • Provides evidence-based patient education
  • Schedules appointments
  • Review and triage medication refills requests in accordance with protocols
  • Aids with prior authorization of medications and durable medical equipment as needed
  • In coordination with a provider, assesses, interprets, and communicates lab results
  • Identify opportunities for nurse led visits, such as IV fluids,  STI treatments, FHT’s, and walk-in patients
  • Support coordination of team-based care with CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, and other RNs within the clinic(s)
  • Collaborate with consulting providers, ultrasonographers, behavioral health, care managers, nutrition, and pharmacists
  • Provide panel management support to identify quality care gaps and participate in outreach as needed
  • Participate in the ongoing design and implementation of nurse-led protocols and co-visits as needed
  • Identify and perform pre-visit planning for a variety of visit types if indicated
  • Assist with management of urgent and emergent patient care situations
  • Performs phlebotomy, clia waived lab tests, processes specimens, and starts IVs as needed
  • Participate in annual competency training of clinical staff
  • Float between OB clinics as needed to meet the needs of the department
  • Serve as a preceptor for new clinical staff
  • Participates in process improvement of new and existing workflows
  • Actively embraces and supports divisional and organizational initiatives

Finally, the ability to apply the depth of knowledge maintained and gained through this process in real life scenarios as appropriate.
