Surgical Tech II/Materials Coordinator

Description

• Utilize critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
• Meet with vendor representatives to review supply/equipment options and determine pricing
• Maintain adequate supply levels throughout the facility, setting and maintaining par levels
• Place and monitor supply orders to ensure correct and timely delivery
• Track back orders, review packing slips/purchase orders, and rectify incorrect charges
• Oversee receiving area to maintain stores securely
• Maintenance of surgeon preference cards
• Perform scrub and related duties in the operating room according to accepted standards of practice
• Assemble equipment, supplies, and instrumentation required for surgical procedures.
• Assist in decontamination, assembly, processing, and sterilization of instruments
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, vendors, physicians, coworkers, and the general public. Promotes a favorable facility image.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
• Previous operating room experience
• Previous materials management experience
• Strong communication skills that promote interpersonal relations, customer service, and teamwork
