Description:

Facilitates, prior authorizes, and schedules MercyOne Clinic patients for appointments, referrals tests and procedures. Adheres to MercyOne Northeast Iowa's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of MercyOne Northeast Iowa.

What you will Do:   

• Receives and reviews referral orders.
• Contact insurance company to assure prior approval
• Provides problem-solving support for the referral process
• Acts as a collaborating member of the clinic medical team and is highly committed to a team
• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures

Hours/Schedule:  

0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)

Minimum Qualifications:      

• Graduate of an accredited nursing or medical assistant program preferred. Candidates with Certification and/or appropriate experience in a related field (lab, X-ray, etc.) or experience with insurance prior authorization may be considered.
• A minimum of one year of experience
• Current license and/or certification in accordance with education.  BLS. Mandatory Reporter
