Our pet food factory in Zanesville is favorably located along the banks of the Muskingum River in scenic east-central Ohio halfway between Columbus and Wheeling, West Virginia. This facility was acquired by Nestlé Purina in 1987 and has since evolved to incorporate our innovative portfolio of products, processes, and technical equipment. Zanesville is the only Nestlé Purina location that produces Moist & Meaty® and Dog Chow Soft Bites for all of the United States and Canada—packaged and shipped with the utmost quality and nutrition. 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

As a Senior Training Specialist, you will support the implementation of technical competency development and leadership development. You will enhance engagement and implement world-class learning systems. This includes best practices throughout the entire facility with focus on safety training, quality training, technical training, job instructional training, and continuous improvement training. Training will be based on Adult Learning Methodologies, Nestlé Continuous Excellence Methodologies, and Total Performance Management methodologies.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Collaborate with factory management to implement standardized onboarding for managers, middle management, and all operator and mechanic roles.

 

  • Responsible for driving site training efforts including needs assessments, aligning with Management to gain understanding of specific situations requiring employee or group improvement, developing an ongoing onboarding, competence management and implementation plan.

 

 

  • Develop and organize a program of practical and technical instruction, develop a teaching outline, and determine instructional methods that can be done timely.

 

  • Maintain learning content and equipment requirements within a Technical Training Center in alignment with the market strategy and the factory OMP.

 

 

  • Maintain digital competence management platforms (Poka, Power BI, iLearn and other solutions)

 

  • Organize, update, and maintain Job Instruction Training (JIT) for all hourly jobs inclusive of JIT manual, training outlines and qualification checklists for all jobs

 

 

  • Manages and plans factory training budget

 

  • Responsible for the deployment of market based standardized

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

 

7+ years’ experience developing and executing technical training programs in an industrial, manufacturing, military, classroom or related environment.

 

OR

 

Associate’s Degree in Training and Development, Business, Engineering, Human Resources, or related field.

 

5+ years’ experience developing and executing technical training programs in an industrial, manufacturing, military, classroom or related environment.

 

OR

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Training and Development, Business, Engineering, Human Resources, or related field.

 

3+ years’ experience developing and executing technical training programs in an industrial manufacturing, military, classroom or related environment.

 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $84,000.00 - $116,000.00 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
