$20.40 - $30.60Join our dedicated Sterile Processing team and make a direct impact on patient safety and surgical excellence. As a Certified Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll be responsible for the critical work of cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards ensures our clinical teams have what they need to provide exceptional care every day.
Essential Functions
- Promote a cooperative and professional work environment through effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
- Clean, decontaminate, and process instruments and equipment using proper techniques and equipment.
- Inspect reusable items to ensure functionality, safety, and readiness for sterilization.
- Sort, assemble, and prepare instruments and instrument sets.
- Operate sterilization units to produce sterile products that minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections.
- Ensure availability of sterilization supplies, prep solutions, and necessary equipment.
- Perform daily checks of autoclaves and Steris Units, including biological indicators and air removal tests, while accurately maintaining logs, records, and charts.
- Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge and skills related to sterile processing practices.
- Provide age/developmentally appropriate care in alignment with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the populations served.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Licensure, Certification & Registration
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment including washer sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, flash autoclaves, and high-vacuum autoclaves.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with medical professionals.
- Knowledge of basic and specialty operating room instrumentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
