Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Staff Accountant – Temporary Contract – 3 months
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
You are a self-starter who is organized, detail oriented, an excellent communicator, and creative. When combined with your strong interpersonal and analytical skills, your passion for numbers, strategy, and people shines through.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this temporary contract role will be responsible for month-end and preparing for the annual audit. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Assist in compiling and preparing for the annual audit.
- Assist in the preparation of
- Financial operation statements and reports in accordance with Corporate Policy/Procedure
- Journal Entries and month-end functions
- Maintain system accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements
- Actively involved in ensuring clean internal and external audit reports
- Oversee and manage income audit with support of the Director of Finance.
- Participate in the inventory process
- Participate in the banking and credit card processes, payments, and reconciliations
- Follow all safety policies and maintain a safe work environment
- Adhere to all hotel systems and internal controls.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned
Qualifications
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Finance is preferable
- Hotel finance experience at a management level preferred
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications or relevant computer applications required, knowledge of OPERA, point of sale systems, and hotel systems preferred
- University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable to work on own and also as a team
Physical Aspects of Position:
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Frequent sitting throughout shift
- Occasional standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Additional Information
