The Project Manager, GVE works as a liaison between vendors and the Global Video Engineering organization. You will be responsible for managing vendor contracts from creation to completion and visualizing overall budget spend for the organization. This position requires strong vendor relationship management, contract administration and budget management. The candidate should have experience in the Media and Entertainment industry specifically in video streaming for Live/Linear content, VOD, SSAI and/or SDKs. This role partners with Legal, Finance, Procurement, and various key internal engineering VPs to ensure contracts/professional resources are in place for development initiatives to start. The successful candidate must have the ability to think analytically, lead contracting and budgeting exercises across multiple domains, work independently, and manage multiple competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute contracts, budget and vendor management strategy aligned with the goals of the Global Video Engineering department.
- Accountable for establishing and pushing forward GVE best practices for contract renewals that align to overarching NBCU principles.
- Be an aggregator, looking across all contracts. Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to completion and manage the process using various software tools.
- Refine GVE vendor management software tools as needed in order to maintain budget and contract lifecycle across all Global video engineering teams in various software applications.
- Support various cross-functional teams and Global Video engineering leadership in negotiations for complex and high-impact contracts.
- Partner with legal to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions while mitigating risks.
- Work closely with finance teams to establish and validate budgets related to vendor contracts.
- Run weekly vendor management syncs with legal, finance, procurement, and various key stakeholders to provide status updates, report on new initiatives and unblock teams.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with leadership by providing regular and systematic data driven vendor reports to GVE leadership and cross functional business teams.
- Develop plans, deliverables, metrics, and milestones.
- Conduct cost data analysis exercises to provide insights for executive leadership.
- On occasion, coordinate invoice validation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in contract, budget and vendor management roles, with a focus on strategic leadership.
- Experience working in Media & Entertainment domain.
- Experience in implementing procedures and processes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex vendor relationships and negotiating high-value contracts.
