A&M Architects is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead our Quantity Surveying & Procurement Team. This is a strategic leadership position at the intersection of design, construction, and cost management, supporting landmark projects that shape the built environment in Greece and beyond.
As part of A&M’s integrated multidisciplinary structure, you will work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to drive cost efficiency, procurement strategy, and contractual clarity across all stages of our projects — from concept and tender to construction and delivery.
Cost Management & Commercial Strategy
- Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team to ensure cost, procurement, and contract objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
- Prepare and oversee detailed cost plans, value engineering exercises, budgets, and financial forecasts for a diverse portfolio of architectural and construction including small to large scale projects.
- Provide expert cost advice during design and pre-construction stages to support informed, value-driven decision-making.
- Review and validate contractor invoices, change orders, and variations with precision and transparency.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, identify risks and opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, contractual frameworks, and company policies.
- Mentor and support junior QS team members, cultivating a strong, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture.
Procurement Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process across residential, hospitality, and workplace fit-out projects, ensuring alignment with project budgets, timelines, and quality objectives.
- Develop and validate comprehensive BOQs across all trades, ensuring quantity and pricing accuracy.
- Conduct market analysis and secure competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to produce realistic and robust cost estimates.
- Coordinate closely with design and construction teams to shape procurement strategies that support efficient project execution.
- Upon award of projects to the A&M construction team, oversee the ordering of all materials, ensuring cost alignment and timely delivery.
- Liaise with subcontractors to confirm scope, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms, ensuring adherence to agreed budgets.
- Monitor procurement schedules and logistics in coordination with site teams to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Maintain structured procurement records and cost databases, supporting forecasting, benchmarking, and strategic purchasing initiatives.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with trusted subcontractors and suppliers to ensure consistent quality, pricing, and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor & Procurement with managerial and leadership experience.
- Proven track record in cost management, contract administration, procurement strategy, and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Project or equivalent).
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
