The Senior Principal System Architect – Digital Ecosystem provides senior technical leadership for CRDN’s connected digital products and platforms. This role is responsible for establishing a shared digital ecosystem architecture that enables multiple products to scale safely, securely, and consistently within a regulated medical device environment.
Operating at a system‑of‑systems and platform level, the architect guides architectural decisions that span products, technologies, and organizational boundaries. The role balances near‑term product delivery needs with longer‑term ecosystem evolution, bringing clarity, structure, and technical judgment to complex, cross‑functional decisions.

A Day in The Life Of:
In this role, you establish and maintain a CRDN digital ecosystem reference architecture that product teams can use to guide real delivery decisions, while shaping its evolution over time. You work closely with CRDN R&D, Digital Product, and enterprise partners to define shared architectural patterns and platform capabilities that support multiple products and avoid fragmentation. You lead architectural discussions and trade off decisions when priorities conflict across products, timelines, or enterprise standards.
This role focuses on architectural coherence and outcomes, not direct ownership of delivery teams or individual product implementations.
Key Skills & Experience
Ecosystem & Platform Architecture
- Define and evolve the CRDN digital ecosystem reference architecture across connected systems, platforms, and services
- Operate at a system‑of‑systems level, ensuring products contribute to a cohesive ecosystem rather than isolated solutions
- Establish architectural principles, standards, and interfaces that enable consistency while supporting product team execution
Architectural Leadership & Alignment
- Provide senior technical leadership with architectural decision authority for cross‑product and cross‑platform trade offs
- Lead architecture reviews and decision discussions, offering clear recommendations in ambiguous or conflicting situations
- Align CRDN product teams, Global IT, and enterprise stakeholders around shared architectural direction and outcomes
Platform Capabilities & Non‑Functional Requirements
- Guide architectural approaches for software lifecycle management, connectivity, and system observability across products
- Ensure data and platform capabilities support product needs while meeting privacy, security, and regulatory expectations
- Embed cybersecurity, quality, and safety considerations into ecosystem‑level architectural decisions
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure ecosystem architecture supports applicable medical device software and system standards
- Assess and communicate the impact of architectural decisions on product risk, compliance, and verification strategies
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Security teams to ensure decisions are traceable and defensible
Collaboration & Organizational Impact
- Collaborate with engineering, product, IT, and external partners to guide shared architectural approaches
- Promote architectural reuse, consistency, and continuous improvement across CRDN
- Contribute to broader digital transformation efforts by shaping how ecosystem capabilities are conceived and adopted
