Leads Virtualization and Datacenter Services Management functions while providing hands on technical leadership to ensure appropriate IT service delivery to enhance productivity including working with product engineering teams, external customers, external partners, and internal teams to gather and prioritize high-level requirements to meet business objectives.   

Principle Duties

  • Work closely with other members of RGA Global IT, Business Teams, Clients & Leadership, responsible for providing excellent support to staff and product engineering teams across the whole of business in  Back office functions. Oversight of IT Operations including service delivery, application and IT infrastructure needs of the business.

  • Provides leadership and supervision for the support of systems, ensuring that appropriate skilled resources are in place and integration to teams are defined within approved processes.  Provides support by conducting product/capability demonstrations and responding to inquiries.

  • Oversee the proper completion of all tasks/phases of service availability testing, incident, service request, change and problem management in accordance with service level agreements and RGA standards. Direct involvement in incidents or problems (irrespective of priority) that cause service impact and acts as escalation point for incidents not being resolved in a timely manner.

  • Ensures effective collaboration, coordination and communication within local teams as well as with customers, management, and other RGA Global IT teams.

  • Evaluates, develops recommendations and builds partnerships with other RGA Global IT teams, and when appropriate, external third parties to support business needs.

  • Stays abreast of the latest trends impacting the business.  Participates in business strategic planning and prioritization. Anticipates emerging needs and provides information tools to the business. Leads an analysis and understanding of current and future competitive threats related to technology and business initiatives.

  • Leads, manages and directs the activities of department management in all aspects of supervisory duties, including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports.  Fosters a positive and engaged work environment.  Mentors associates and gives guidance on associate development.

  • Ensures that systems, processes and methodologies are followed to ensure effective control and support of service delivery including compliance with all RGA policies and regulatory procedures.

  • Ensures efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.

  • Responsible for partnering with other Global IT teams to ensure the business has appropriate installations, configurations and support of new and existing IT infrastructure including the planning and implementation of upgrades needed to maintain service levels.

EDUCATION:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Information Technology, Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or MBA

EXPERIENCE:
Required:

  • 8+ years progressive IT operations, IT service management or related experience delivering, and/or managing in a complex global environment

  • 2+ years management experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required:

  • Experience integrating staff, systems and processes to enterprise shared services and standards as business units are merged and acquired

  • Experience working on large, complex development and/or process improvement projects; Probing and analytical approach with the ability to pre-empt potential problems and identify inefficiencies.

  • Experience with maintaining operational health of infrastructure and systems with a global footprint 

  • Advanced customer service and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer.
