- Lead and supervise the daily activities and operations of assigned staff.
- Establish work priorities and adjust the schedules to meet objectives.
- Monitor assignments, conduct field visits, and perform spot checks to ensure quality.
- Oversee the staff safety practices and provide education and guidance as needed.
- Assist in hiring, developing, and evaluating departmental staff.
- Complete performance reviews and manage corrective or disciplinary actions.
- Acts as primary County contact for HVAC systems at all County facilities.
- Delegate work assignments and service needs to HVAC and Fire/Life Safety staff and contractors.
- Mentor the HVAC and Fire/Life Safety staff.
- Coordinate and oversee HVAC and Fire/Life Safety preventative maintenance programs, ensuring proper practices and documentation.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Building, Construction, or related field.
- - OR - Two (2) year associate's degree AND two (2) years of experience in the related field.
- - OR - A High School diploma AND four (4) years of related experience in the related field.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience (lead worker or acting in a supervisory capacity may be counted) in related field.
- A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of applicable state and local regulations and ordinances.
- Advanced knowledge of the methods, equipment, principles, practices, troubleshooting and techniques of commercial Fire/Life Safety and HVAC systems using chillers, cooling towers, thermal storage, pumps, AHU’s, VFD’s, BAS and common peripherals.
- Understanding of Building Automation System(s) methods and integration with other building systems.
- Knowledge of construction plans and specifications and ability to interpret and conduct construction/maintenance inspections and evaluations.
- Ten (10) years of related experience; three (3) of which, are related to chiller plant applications to a commercial office building.
- Posses the IAQ and Energy Management certification.
- Advanced HVAC trade software programming.
- Understanding of the Archibus work order management, Johnson & Trane Controls, VFD Programming & Terminoligy.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.

About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $27.49 - $30.00/ hour, based on experience
