Job Summary
Join our Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families by participating in all aspects of patient meal service. This includes answering phones in the call center, assembling patient trays, cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, delivering and picking up meal trays, and managing stock. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment. No experience is required - you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career.
Essential Functions
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation area, including routine cleaning of tray carts, tray lines, and dish room area.
Patient meal tray delivery to units and/or rooms throughout the hospital ranging from 10 floors, 3 buildings and up to 40 individual units.
Walking/pushing/pulling up to 275 pounds and 8-15 miles per shift.
Retrieve soiled dish racks and trays from patient units and soiled utility rooms throughout the Hospital.
Crosstrain and assist in multiple areas, including tray delivery, trayline, call center, nourishments and dish room.
Assist with patient meal tray assembly and delivery as operational needs require.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and PPE guidelines.
Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork to support daily department operations.
Communicate effectively and efficiently via work iPhones and iPads.
Ensuring timely delivery of all patient and guest meal trays along with providing accuracy and exceptional customer service.
Accurately portioning, packaging and delivery of nourishment orders to units servicing patient dietary needs.
Answering patient calls for meal ordering in a timely fashion along with assisting them with choosing the correct meal items that align with their dietary restrictions.
Stocking frozen items, dry stock, cooler items, trays, lids, to go items in alignment with stocking lists and par sheets.
