Position Details:

You will work with world-class engineers and technologists to develop cutting-edge capabilities to further Grainger's technological leadership in the MRO industry.

You will be a part of the team that will monitor the technology landscape of Grainger.com, build and use innovative technologies and solutions to solve a wide spectrum of performance and resiliency challenges. You will work closely with other production teams within Grainger's Technology Group (GTG) to improve the resiliency footprint.

We are seeking a Software Engineer (II) to join our team. You have experience using tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk etc., identifying gaps in monitoring the applications, investigating, and resolving the issues and recommending best practices.

You will be based in Chicago, IL and will report to the Senior Manager, Product Engineering.

 

You Have:

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in monitoring major digital web applications.
  • Experience working with development teams and resiliency engineers to enhance the stability of the website.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience using Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk extensively.
  • Experience in enhancing the monitoring gaps and building detail run books.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field.
