<p>We are looking for a (Senior) Technical Expert to join our skilled Technical Services team. The preferred location is Vaasa, Finland. We would like to encourage candidates with experience compatible with a Technical Expert role to apply as well, as a lower seniority level can also be considered. </p>

<p>What will you be doing?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As a (Senior) Technical Expert in the Investigation Laboratory function of Technical Services, you would be focusing mainly on investigations of damaged large bore engine components received from the field and on supplier quality inspections. The position requires good overall knowledge of materials, excellent troubleshooting skills, a genuine interest in engines, and a problem-solving mind-set.</p>

<p>Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Performing damage investigations of engine components returned from the field.</li>
<li>Preparing recommendations and improvement proposals for preventing future failures.</li>
<li>Participating in conducting root cause analyses.</li>
<li>Performing supplier quality inspections.</li>
<li>Keeping contact with external laboratories providing testing methods that are not available in-house.</li>
<li>Supporting claim handlers, service network, engine groups, component experts, and other internal interest groups.</li>

<p>To be successful in this role, you should have:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent, specialized preferably in materials engineering.</li>
<li>Strong overall knowledge of materials (manufacturing processes, heat treatments, surface treatments, properties, usability, applications, failure analyses, and so on).</li>
<li>Familiarity with material testing, mechanical testing, and research methods (destructive and non-destructive methods).</li>
<li>Excellent technical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.</li>
<li>Good knowledge of 4-stroke engines (assembly, operation, maintenance, and repair).</li>
<li>Experience of technical documentation.</li>
<li>Cooperative attitude, good communication and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Fluency in English, both written and verbal.</li>
<li>Good command of Finnish or Swedish considered an advantage.</li>
<li>At least five years of relevant work experience.</li>
