What We Are Looking For:

The Director of Global Sourcing and Vendor Management will manage a team responsible for contract, performance, and relationship management across all vendors at Bandwidth. He or she owns contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed products, services and solutions. This role is a senior leadership position, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer.

The role will require the development and management of policies and processes associated with a vendor management function, including collaboration with business units and stakeholders who may be responsible for adherence to or execution of those policies and processes.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide leadership and set the strategic direction, mission and vision of the Sourcing and Vendor Management office (SVMO) in alignment with the strategic and operational objectives of the enterprise.
  • Develop organizational design and functional roles and responsibilities for vendor management.
  • Provide assistance to internal teams to optimize the cost-effectiveness of negotiations and ensure compliance of negotiated agreements to established vendor management policies and practices (such as articulation of service levels and deliverables, etc.).
  • Establish and/or approve internal and external policies, standards and processes for vendor interaction.
  • Manage the maintenance/enhancement of tools for use in vendor management, including vendor tracking, analytics and performance management tools.
  • Oversee maintenance of vendor agreements in coordination with legal and business stakeholders to ensure that they are current/up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage/oversee the creation and maintenance of a repository of vendors in a contract management database to track key engagement milestones (expirations, renewals).
  • Manage vendor relationships as the key point of contact between specified vendors and the business.
  • Oversee the measurement and reporting of vendor performance, including the development of evaluation tools based on stakeholder needs, and the creation of scorecards and dashboards that will accurately present this data.

What You Need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, management or a related field
  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in vendor management or a related field
  • Proven experience in successfully leading a team in the management of vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts (including negotiations), and issue and dispute resolution
  • Experience driving change and facilitating collaboration and action in highly distributed organizations
  • Global experience with purchasing and taxation utilizing a multiple entity structure
  • Working knowledge of contract management and negotiation
  • Understanding of the vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements
  • Solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, capitalization, return on investment, and total cost of ownership
  • Ability to effectively interpret and act on data visualizations and analytics, particularly with regard to trends in vendor performance and activity
  • Thorough understanding of commercial terms (warranties, intellectual property, indemnification) in contractual agreements
  • Strong ability to manage, train and motivate staff
