Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Technician III who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Pharmacy Technician III you will:
• Perform advanced duties and responsibilities, reflecting the additional knowledge and experience they have earned and demonstrated.
• Oversee and execute (with pharmacist supervision) of specific operations such as Sterile Compounding; Automation, Technology and Information Systems; Controlled Substances Dispensing and Diversion Prevention; Medication History capture and documentation.
• Be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of, and applying applicable regulatory and practice standards, generating reports, communicate and interact with other professionals and disciplines, maintaining vendor relationships.
• In addition to these specialized responsibilities, the Pharmacy Technician III will also be able to perform all duties in Pharmacy Tech I and Pharmacy Tech II positions.
• Serve as mentor and trainer to those in the Pharmacy Technician I and II roles.
• Adhere to and exhibit our Core Values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and stewardship, demonstrating positive customer relations, effective communication skills and excellent work ethics.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Required: At least 3 years experience in a hospital setting, with automated distribution systems, decentralized pharmacy services, and sterile compounding. Working knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800.
• Preferred: Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels.
• Required: Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
• Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Required: PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv); or PTCB Certificate in appropriate focus (Medication History, Sterile Compounding
Work Schedule:
Pharmacy technician III working 8 hours per pay period rotating days and/or evening shifts and/or weekends as needed.

Pay Range:
$23.25 - $32.55In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
