This role will be responsible for overall program management of AP300 SMR development. The AP300 Sr. Program Manager will work closely with GOS/Nuclear Fuel technical leadership and program leadership to ensure AP300 SMR design and licensing is progressed on time and on budget and meets our customers’ expectations. The Program manager will be responsible for managing engagements with key internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, including but is not limited to planning, scheduling, budgeting, establishment of processes and procedures, as well as coordination with clients/stakeholders and internal Westinghouse teams.
Your Day to Day:
- Partner with GOS/ Nuclear Fuel technical leadership to oversee and direct the authoring of project plans including developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines required to successfully develop and licensing AP300 SMR
- Analyze needs and develop unique customer satisfaction and project performance metrics. Continually assess and evaluate program performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as required.
- Oversee and hold accountable direct reporting or matrixed project managers and/or team members to ensure that project objectives are achieved within the agreed-upon timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Provide oversight and direction to the project managers to champion EPMO best practices and standards.
- Communicate complex situations including status, risks, issues and plans in a clear, concise, and credible manner at an executive level.
- Ultimate responsible to evaluate project risks, identify potential issues, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize program delays, cost overruns, or quality issues.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication, including issuing and maintenance of project process metrics and process maps to ensure team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of project status.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, and promote the company's reputation as a leader in the nuclear industry.
- Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and make recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result, strategic intent, or customer’s needs.
- Partner with business development leaders to set execution and commercial strategy and to capture growth opportunities that advance strategic and business objectives.
Who You Are:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or other technical-related area.
- Typically, 10+ years professional experience in Program and Contract management.
- PMI Program Manager program certification desired
- PMI Project Management Professional certification
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong Program and Contract management skills
- Track record delivering quality on time and within predictable cost controls
- Strong analytical thinking capability and business development acumen.
- General knowledge of nuclear industry and related associations.
- AP1000 experience preferred.
- Organizational experience with planning, budgeting, operations and objectives.
- Familiarity with project management software tools (P6, SAP, ARM) and techniques, including Earned Value Management
- Knowledge of team building, planning techniques, business management principles and practices.
- Experience in developing and successfully implementing stakeholder engagement plans in both private and public sectors.
- Good interpersonal and networking skills, articulate spokesperson
