ADS System Safety Consulting, LLC, a dss+ company, is a professional consulting firm based in Baltimore, MD, supporting clients throughout the United States by providing high impact and high value risk-based system safety, system security, and fire/life safety consulting and engineering services across multiple industries.
Our clients include a mix of Federal, State and Local government agencies including the Federal Transit Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, State Departments of Transportation and the nation’s largest transit agencies. We currently have an immediate opening for a Senior Manager (Transportation Industry).
The Role
In this strategic and client-facing position, you will oversee the entire consulting value chain. This includes leading or supporting business development efforts, engaging in project delivery, and fostering account development. You will also be a regional thought leader, actively contributing to shaping and driving our Transportation Industry strategy in collaboration with our Practice Delivery Teams.
You will be instrumental in driving revenue and profit growth in the Transportation industry, all while working closely with thought leaders to innovate our approach and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Candidate qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, business. MS, MA, or MBA preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of professional experience in the Public Transportation Industry
- The ideal candidate will have strong industry contacts and recognition among peers.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and team-working attitude
- Good interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Technical knowledge and experience implementing safety management system (SMS) programs at the executive level, including setting strategies, tracking key safety performance indicators, and developing strategic safety plans.
- Strong understanding and conversant with US public transportation clients
- Solid technical and business acumen
- Effective leadership skills to lead internal teams and client executives
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior executive levels within the government
- Desire to learn, be curious and ask questions.
- Proactive risk management and clear communication.
- Detailed orientated with a focus on transactional excellence.
- Ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines.

Basic Duties:
Basic duties of the include but are not limited to:
- Report directly to the Transportation Industry Leader and be accountable for developing and leading junior team members, with a strong focus on business development and go-to-market strategy to support regional business growth
- Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients through research and network building, work with Industry Leader to scope projects, prepare and deliver presentations tailored to client needs
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets. Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with the Public Transportation Industry Team to contribute to thought leadership, offerings, and methodologies, bringing global best practices to the USC market and clients
- Provide support for consulting business assessment and implementation engagements
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and government officials and support the firm’s ability to support major infrastructure projects.
