About the role

Job Summary

Provide day-to-day leadership support, strategy implementation, and business unit/project support for the Resource Management team to ensure positive operational and organizational goals are achieved. This includes strengthening internal business processes, delivering timely data and insights, supporting growth initiatives and process improvements, and providing tailored support across business lines.

Business Acumen

  • Provide strategic reporting, analysis, and oversight for regulated Resource Management business lines
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards
  • Create presentations for projects and leadership requests
  • Facilitate monthly project meetings
  • Lead or support special projects and cross-functional committees
  • Build strong relationships with Project Managers, Business Operations, and other key stakeholders

Qualifications Education, Certifications/Licenses

Preferred: BA/BS degree in business, finance, economics, or similar field

Required: Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree

Related Work Experience

Required:

  • 3–5 years in utilities or related industries
  • 2–4 years in data analysis and process improvement
  • 4+ years in project cost tracking
  • Experience with business processes and systems (e.g., CC&B)
  • Proficiency in Power BI and SQL

Preferred:

  • 4–6 years analyzing operational data, modeling, or forecasting
  • Experience in the natural gas industry
  • Advanced knowledge of business systems and exception processing
  • Cross-departmental experience
  • Familiarity with Southern Company Gas KPIs and metrics

Additional Responsibilities Systems Expertise & Support

  • Serve as SME for Sentniel, Click, Maximo, CC&B, and Asset Repository
  • Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and training
  • Ensure data integrity and system optimization

Cross-Functional Scheduling

  • Support scheduling for any business unit
  • Maintain flexibility and responsiveness
  • Collaborate across departments for accurate scheduling

Leadership Backup

  • Serve as backup to Superintendent when unavailable
  • Make decisions and maintain continuity
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders
