Short Description for Internal Candidates     ABM is hiring Airport Maintenance Attendant at O'Hare Airport. The Maintenance Attendant is responsible to repair and maintain all facility equipment, scrubbers, vacuums, burnishes, and all floor equipment.   Description for Internal Candidates    

Duties and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Attendant is responsible to repair and maintain all facility equipment, scrubbers, vacuums, burnishes, and all floor equipment. 

He or she will be responsible for quality performance, efficient operations, and cost control. 

Creates work orders and completes preventive maintenance paperwork. 

Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.

Minor repairs of furniture. 

Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware. 

General cleaning in mechanical spaces.

Cleaning of non-operating mechanical equipment which has been shut down, locked out and tagged by an Ops Managers in accordance with ABM Lockout / Tagout Program.

Miscellaneous handyman work requiring the limited use of hand tools.

Will be responsible for working with both internal and external customers on technical issues.

Perform tests and rounds and analyze the data to ensure proper functioning and operating parameters of equipment. 

Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment to ensure efficient operation.

Document all work performed and take active role in the process improvement/quality improvement process. 

Handle hazardous materials and chemicals safely.

Identifies maintenance risks on equipment. 

Keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.

Follows safe practices and complies with company and regulatory standards 

Provides reports on open and closed orders with all necessary parties.

Completes other duties as assigned 

Administer necessary inventory control programs to ensure adequate spare parts and material inventories for all equipment. 

Responsible for proper care and maintenance of all assigned company assets 


  Basic Qualifications:
  •  Must be 18 years of age or older •  High School Diploma, GED or suitable equivalent is required •  Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license
  Preferred Qualifications:
  •  3 years of mechanic experience (Experience with Tennant equipment preferred).
