Orion Space Solutions is seeking a Pricing Specialsit with 2+ years of experience, aerospace industry preferred, to help develop proposals, including coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs), compiling administrative components, creating costing responses, editing, and formatting technical responses, and providing post-award support as needed. This position requires excellent Excel software skills, attention to detail, strong initiative, and the confidence to jump in and support multiple types of projects and programs quickly and with minimal supervision. A background in government proposal development is highly recommended.
Responsibilities include identifying proposal requirements (technical, administrative, and costing), coordinating with a team of SMEs to meet those requirements, coordinating with proposal subcontractors, setting timelines, and providing guidance on required budgetary and written elements, developing compliant proposal budgets, coordinating proposal submissions, as well as assuring agency policy compliance. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and organized individual who thrives in a deadline-driven, demanding environment. In addition, candidates should have prior experience in pre-award proposal administration.
While the job is onsite in our Louisville, CO offices, given the cyclical nature of proposal submissions, some overtime and weekends may be required.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify and review proposal opportunities for aerospace-related Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and grants.
- Develop proposal templates and related documents based on customer requirements.
- Coordinate with proposal writing team to develop high-quality and compliant technical responses.
- Lead proposal budgets and related costing development with high attention to detail.
Core Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and summarize government solicitations and policies.
- Advanced Excel and MS Word skills.
- Thorough knowledge of proposal management practices and regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including grammar fundamentals, with the ability to articulate needs and questions clearly.
- Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess follow through and the ability to seek and find solutions independently.
- Must be detail-oriented, work quickly and accurately, and be able to multi-task with limited need for supervision.
Qualifications
- BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
- 2+ years of experience managing government proposal responses, aerospace industry experience preferred.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Excel and MS Word.
- Knowledge of general financial/budget policies and principles.
- Formulate, manipulate, and manage large data sets.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- May need to obtain and maintain a security clearance for this position.
