Surgical Technologist - Outpatient Orthopedics, casual position

Position Summary:
The Surgical Technologist practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating, critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring.
Work Schedule:
Casual requirement of one shift per two-week pay period. Variable start times between 0600–0900 with 8-hour shifts. Scheduled Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs: CST (https://nbstsa.org/examinations-cst.html) or NCCT (https://www.ncctinc.com/General/VerifyCertification.aspx) at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently validated CPR skills preferred
- Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
