ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sales Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction for a team of sales managers and technical sales personnel (+17) in order to achieve the established sales targets of growth and revenue for the assigned geographic region.
This includes, but is not limited to, the achievement of sales and profitability objectives for the assigned region, the development of the assigned sales team, the support and implementation of recruitment, training, development and management of a professional sales force, the oversight of customer complaint resolutions and the management of the overall sales area administrative system to support the activities of the area sales.
Position may be located in the any of these major market areas: Golden/Denver, CO
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Work with Sales Managers II and Technical Services Manager to achieve assigned growth, proper RMX/materials utilization, and revenue targets.
- Nurture & build customer relationships while preserving the ability to: negotiate effectively with customers, close sales, identify unmet and/or latent customer needs & communicate these within Holcim, maintain acceptable DSO and minimize outstanding past-due balances, broaden & deepen the business relationship with the customer.
- Work with Business Operations Teams to effectively manage the business & achieve/exceed targets.
- Manage price/volume relationship to maximize margin.
- Lead and manage field personnel, including: setting performance objectives, developing and coaching sales personnel, reviewing performance.
- Embrace & actively drive implementation of more effective sales processes & practices. Champion change and challenge status quo, always asking “how can we do it better?”
- Take on leadership roles in industry associations. Look for opportunities to cross-sell other Holcim products or services.
- Properly develop and monitor sales pipeline. Forecast demand for effective supply planning for a network. Report on business performance (volume, price, revenue, margin) vs. budget and forecast.
- Log customer complaints & resolution (CRM system).
- Establish pricing and commercial strategy for the entire state in regards to RMX.
- Work on projects as assigned and in partnership with the RMX GM including, but not limited to strategy, dispatch, logistics, equipment utilization,.......
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree
Required Work Experience: 10+ years, 5-10 years of commercial experience required (business development, marketing, sales, channel management, construction materials experience preferred (RMX concrete, aggregates, paving, civil contracting) & experience in a commission-based, comp
Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft skills; working knowledge in SAP
Travel Requirements: 25% Travel required
