Post Doctoral Scholar performing regional reanalysis of the greater Arctic employing the polar version of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) and its data assimilation system WRFDA. Implementation of the data assimilation capability (Joint Effort for Data assimilation Integration, JEDI) for the polar version of the Model for Prediction Across Scales (MPAS). Prepares manuscripts for publication. Participates in the preparation of research proposals.

A Doctoral degree in atmospheric science dealing with regional and polar atmospheric modeling with the WRF model and its data assimilation system (WRFDA).

Knowledge of the MPAS model is desirable, as is extensive experience in atmospheric science research.

Additional Information:

The target salary for this position is $62,000.00, annually. This is a one-year, term position, but is eligible for renewal based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
