Essential Functions

• Under immediate supervision, receives six to twelve months of closely supervised instruction and on-the-job training, accepting and completing assignments of increasing difficulty for the purpose of gaining experience and developing skills that allow the trainee to perform technical analysis of routine tax accounts referred to the Board of Appeals (BOA).
• Receives training on the use of GenTax, MyTax and other IDOR computer systems and software to update BOA cases in BOA case manager.
• Completes training which includes indoctrination and instructions in current Illinois State tax laws, rules and regulations, Program Area workflow and work procedures, collection techniques, including commonly used terminology, acronym, and utilization of various tax related forms and documents.
• Receives training related to communication skills, business writing, telephone and interpersonal competence skills.
• Receives training as to the rules and procedures concerning the Voluntary Disclosure Program.
