Senior Director, Special Projects

Proofpoint is seeking a Sr. Director, Special Projects to support our continued growth and success. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to execute various special projects aimed at enhancing financial processes, driving efficiency, and supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Your Day to Day

Project Management

• Collaborate with CFO to identify, plan, and execute special projects aligned with the organization’s financial goals and strategic objectives.
• Develop project plans, set timelines, and ensure the successful completion of projects within scope and budget.

Financial Analysis

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making on special projects, including cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to drive informed business decisions.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Work cross-functionally to streamline financial processes and contribute to the development of best practices.

Reporting and documentation

• Generate and present comprehensive reports on project progress, financial metrics, and key performance indicators to the CFO and other stakeholders.
• Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with various departments and teams to gather necessary information, address project requirements, and ensure successful project implementation.
• Serve as a liaison between the finance department and other business units.

What you Bring to the Team

• Strong business acumen, including the aptitude to assess business situations, draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
• Hi-tech experience is a plus.
• Experience with Adaptive Planning or other Cloud-based Financial Planning tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management, financial analysis,, and process improvement.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
