Job Description
 

Overview

The Community Care Services Supervisor will supervise a team of staff and/or a project or set of projects within the Office of Community Care. Additionally, a Supervisor – Community Care Services may supervise or oversee community partners, volunteers and/or temporary employees. The Office of Community Care administers a variety of social services programming within the City of Dallas.

Essential Functions

1 Supervises, plans, coordinates, assigns and evaluates work of staff, volunteers and/or temporary employees

Implements and monitors policies and procedures; supervises work schedules and assignments

2 Supports, supervises, and oversees the collection of reports, data and other information and the preparation of reporting for project accomplishments

3 Trains, educates, and counsels new hires, current staff, and or volunteers and temporary employees on projects within their areas of responsibility

4 Manages and set schedule for site visits, evaluations, and monitoring reviews when appropriate.

5 Conducts staff performance evaluations

6 Develops and manage key areas of administration dependent on specific role, such as management of contracts and conduct monitoring reviews, oversight of volunteer schedule, oversight of facility calendar, etc.

7 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
High school diploma or GED.

Experience

Four (4) years experience involving two (2) or more of the following:

  • Contract Management

  • Budgeting

  • Program Evaluation and Reporting

  • Social Services Program Oversight

  • Volunteer Management

  • Office Administration

-Two (2) year of experience in a lead work/supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certifications

A valid driver’s license.

Special Requirements (Position Specific)

Applicant must be able to:

  • Lift at least 20lbs. and above

  • Receive and unload donations

  • Setup and breakdown for all events

  • Work 1 late night (11 am to 7 pm) per week

  • Accommodate a normal work schedule as follows: 6 days a week (Monday-Friday 8 am to 4 pm), and (Saturday 8 am to 1 pm)

  • Be flexible to work overtime as needed

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1 Knowledge or relevant program area or scope of responsibilities. This might include oversight of a process, such as contract management, oversight of a facility, oversight of social services programming, etc.

2 Thorough knowledge of or ability to become familiar with City ordinances and Administrative Directives related to City contracts, procurement, Council Agenda process, Office of Community Development, and Risk Management procedures.

3 Where relevant, knowledge of applicable federal, state or other guidelines concerning receipt and use of grant monies.

4 Ability to assist and direct various community members, clients and patrons.

5 Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

6 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

7 Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both orally and in writing.

8 Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, city officials, vendors, other government agencies, other employees and the general public.



Salary Range

 

$29.99 - $36.82
