We are looking for a Staff level Cloud engineer to help Implement next generation cloud infrastructure and platforms in a Multi Cloud environment.

Job Title: Staff Cloud Engineer

Meet our Team:

This role reports up into the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) team within the Cloud Platform Engineering group at PayPal. The team is responsible for building the foundational Public Cloud Platform to support our internal engineering teams with their Public Cloud deployments and migrations.  We support multiple public cloud vendors (GCP/AWS) in our environments. 

Your Way to Impact:

You will be influencing some of the key decisions on Public Cloud Engineering efforts, adoptions, best practices, and efficiency programs within PayPal as we continue our expansion into Public Cloud. You will be instrumental in getting PayPal internal engineering teams to migrate and expand their workloads into Public Cloud in a seamless and efficient manner. 
 

You will have the opportunity to provide a great customer experience to hundreds of internal PayPal engineering teams, as they navigate the Public Cloud environment and look for success using new Public Cloud technologies.

Your Day to Day:

• Work on Public Cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CrossPlane, Harness, Jenkins, to deploy automated infrastructure builds.
• Triage any issues in Public Cloud environment and analyze the root cause. 
• Learn and work with programming languages like GoLang for building automation platforms.
• Work on Kubernetes platform as part of the infrastructure platform.
• Be able to drive software solutions end to end, from design, implementation, testing to release phase. 
• Perform and apply high quality software analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance for the PayPal core technology platform. 
• Work cross-functionally across internal engineering teams, internal customers and product managers in various geo-locations across the world. 
• Eager to learn new cloud technologies and help drive innovation within PayPal. 

What You Need to Bring:

• A successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in Cloud DevOps with a background in backend
