JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics seeks to hire an undergraduate student or recent graduate to work part-time as a Data Analyst. The selected candidate will help collect and analyze data for use in a proposal to revise the Planetary Science and Astronomy Major. Duties will include looking for patterns in course-taking among de-identified student data and using that data to inform curricular changes, benchmarking our major by searching for and collecting data on similar undergraduate majors at peer institutions, and helping collect data on student careers from alumni and turning that data into a report to support the proposal. Students with a strong background in data analysis, written summaries of data, and data visualization are especially encouraged to apply. Expected hours will be approximately 5-10 hours/week. The selected candidate will report to Dr. Christopher Palma. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
