The Opportunity:

As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need a data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.   

As a lead big data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll oversee the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.  

Here, you’ll develop and operationalize a database with a team of data scientists and engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

You Have:   

• 7+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data 

• 5+ years of experience developing scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics 

• 3+ years of experience with AWS, including S3, Lambda, or RDS

• 1+ year of experience with PostgreSQL

• Experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative team dealing with classified data

• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

• Bachelor’s degree  

Nice If You Have:   

• 10+ years of experience using Python, SQL, R, or Java   

• 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices  

• Experience using PostgreSQL and AWS on classified networks

• Experience migrating databases within AWS

• Experience with automating cross domain data transfers

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph 

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
