Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Temporary Building Manager to oversee the daily operations of our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to facility management, with a focus on safety, compliance, and team supervision.

Job Description

Essential Functions

•Manage an in-house team of maintenance technicians, as well as contractors and vendors to assure quality, timeliness and effectiveness of work. Efficiently manage shifts, minimize over-time, and verify and approve timecards.

•Assure the best functioning of building systems and features including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, equipment, kitchens, landscape, parking lot, and others. Manage utilities and relationships with operators.

•Assess, assign, schedule and track work orders. Effectively communicate with stakeholders, procure and manage resources, and conduct final review for close out.

•Manage small to mid-sized projects. Define scope, accurately assess requirements, establish budgets, develop timelines, manage resources and clearly communicate with stakeholders.

•Enforces safety and compliance within the department, participate in related committees and task forces, and perform incident reporting.

•Manage procurement and inventory of equipment, tools, supplies and materials. Accurately assess the needs of the team, project or request.

•Own and consistently perform the ongoing maintenance and testing schedule for all sites.

•Assist with facility renovations including coordinating with contractors, ensuring city requirements are fulfilled and all

affected tenants and staff are notified of changes that affect them in a timely manner. • Responsible for implementing and coordinating communications with tenants and other facility management issues

  • Works with Site Managers to complete repairs, provide resources and otherwise support the efficient resolution of issues with minimal effect on operations.
  • Manages fulfillment of facility help requests and ensures quality of workmanship.
  • Coordinates with agencies and contractors to obtain bids and gives written recommendations about facility issues, alternatives and best practices and solutions.
  • Communicates clearly, respectfully and professionally with clients, co-workers, management, reporting staff and external contacts. Communicates appropriately for responses, inquiries, follow-up, reports and any other communication at all levels including staff, departmental, company-wide and external.
  • Promotes a positive work environment in which he/she proactively identifies problems, issues or concerns; analyzes the situation; and proposes viable solutions or improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in management, operations, quality assurance, infection control and task force meetings as assigned.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results and information about participants, clients or families.
  • Maintains a courteous, helpful and professional attitude on the job. Displays a willingness and ability to be responsive in a warm and caring to all customer groups.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following agency safety policies and procedures and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Respond to and resolve emergency calls and maintenance requests during and after business hours.
  • Complies with all agency training requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in a positive and helpful manner.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, HVAC operations.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software is preferred.
  • Ability to supervise a team effectively while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with fabrication techniques is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues using voltmeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • A proactive approach to safety and compliance within the workplace.

Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma; or GED Bachelor’s degree in construction management or business management 5-10 years’ experience in the maintenance trades Previous experience managing vendors and subcontr
