AUI is currently seeking a motivated individual to grow with us in our Oxford office.

Laboratory Assistant

The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for assisting the Medical Laboratory Technicians in the area for which they are assigned. This position requires an individual who can multitask efficiently. The Laboratory Assistant must be able to accession specimens; order requested testing, label and process specimens in an accurate and timely fashion. The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for most clerical duties in the laboratory.

Duties:

• Order required testing, label and process specimens in an accurately and timely fashion
• Exercises independent judgment in dealing with procedural and technical problems.
• Disposes of hazardous chemical waste per regulatory guidelines.
• Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals.
• Adherence to CAP, CLIA, State Regulations, HIPAA, Safety and OSHA Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• CNA, Medical Assistant or Specimen Processor.
• 2 years in a medical office setting.
