About the role

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the safe, effective operation of mechanical, motorized and/or electrical equipment in the facilities work environment. Including but not limited to forklifts, both electric and large 13K, and combilifts (specialized Fork Truck). Responsible for the safe movement of components to various client specific locations located at US Military Installation MCAS Cherry Point. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for safe operation of equipment during material handling and warehousing as required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of equipment while entering and existing of trailers.
  • Responsible for the safety of all personnel within given safety zones of operating equipment.
  • Demonstrate, lead and assist in work from a variety of source documents to verify quantities, parts, destinations and timing prior to material movement.
  • Tracks status and hourly movement of any special deliveries provided to the client and reports status on such deliveries to management.
  • Coordinate any special needs for expedited parts with the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for the movement of freight to the client site (FRCE).
  • Responsible for ensuring freight delivered to the client site reaches the required destination (shop) uninterrupted.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift Certification
  • Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) helpful, but not required for all deliveries
  • 2+ years’ relevant warehousing experience
  • Aptitude to learn statistical programming
  • Ability to review process/system issues, identify root cause and take actions to solve them
  • Ability to safely and appropriately operate the tools, equipment, and technology for the storage, distribution, maintenance, and inventory management in a warehouse
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and other business areas
  • Ability to understand and interpret US Navy documents pertaining to schedule removal component cards and Form DD 1348 (issue release/receipt document). 
  • Integral understanding of CH-53H helicopter components and nomenclature.
  • Ability to client face when delivering parts to various repair shops at R&O facility.
  • Responsible for a sound knowledge of logistics and supply chain, material management and distribution/transportation processes and policies.
  • Helpful to have an understanding of SAP computer system and the ability to process transactions seamlessly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
