Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (T02) / Principal Engineer Systems (T03) for its Guidance & Control team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What you’ll get to do:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Tasks include but not limited to:
- Designs and develops system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements
- Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications
- Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces
- Defines system implementation approach and operational concept
- Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03).
Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree
Principal Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years experience with a Master of Science degree; 1 year experience with a PhD
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have a current or ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Must have experience with Engineering Requirements Management Tools (i.e. DOORS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on an Agile team
- Experience with MBSE Management Tools (i.e. Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody)
- Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans
- Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety
- Strong experience in System Engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program
