HVAC Refrigeration Pipe Installer

The Pipe Installer will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems.

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, prepares, installs and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters and strainer valves.
• Refers to blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedures based on specifications.
• Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
• Cuts, bends threads, solders, and fits pipes.
• Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls/ceilings using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps.
• Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering.
• Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
• Coordinates with the manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
• Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
• Performs other related duties assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
