About the Role:

As the Principal Naval Architect – L4, you will play a pivotal role in providing naval architecture authority, overseeing projects, and mentoring naval architecture resources across our company. You will ensure that projects are executed within scope and budget, lead engineering teams, and provide design approval level review. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate naval architecture input, ensuring risk assessment and reporting.
  • Make technical decisions based on engineering principles and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Exercise approval authority for CAD outputs, structural and mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Source and develop new business opportunities by formulating strategies and building a comprehensive industry network.
  • Lead projects, manage scope, budgets, and timelines, and provide support to the Principal Naval Architect.
  • Ensure professional output and quality control through adherence to company standards and peer review.
  • Maintain effective client relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and accurate record-keeping.
  • Comply with all HSE policies, processes, and procedures, promoting a health and safety culture within the organization.

 

About You:

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in naval architecture. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in providing timely and accurate naval architecture input, making technical decisions based on sound engineering principles, and demonstrating initiative in problem-solving.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Naval Architecture or related discipline.
  • Project Management qualification (desirable).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marine shipbuilding and repair.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Naval Architecture software, and Microsoft applications.
  • Strong leadership, effective communication, and excellent problem-solving skills.
