About the role

The Vice Chancellor is responsible directly to the Campus Chancellor or designee in providing leadership, supervision, and guidance in the development, delivery, administration, and implementation of all programs and services delivered at the S1 level site, while fostering a climate that is consistent with the College’s core values. The Vice Chancellor consults with the Chancellor and campus leadership to achieve policy objectives and goals, for building new and varied community outreach and partnerships, in aligning the availability of the College’s academic and training programs with the community’s workforce needs, and achieving increased student enrollment, retention and success.

Major Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Chancellor and campus leadership:

 Assists in the recruitment, selection, retention, and supervision of assigned staff at the site.

 Works collaboratively with campus academic affairs to coordinate all site academic activities, to include selection and scheduling of classes with academic and training delivery to the local community.

Collaborates with student affairs activities to include, recruitment, admissions, advising, financial aid, registrar, student support, student activities, and career services.

Engages with employers, K-12 partners, and community leaders as Ivy Tech’s senior leader within the community to ensure dual credit opportunities, appropriate program offerings, and workforce alignment.

Develops working partnerships with the community, orthopedic industry and educational organizations to promote the College and site; in collaboration with Campus leadership, develops programs and services that respond to their changing needs.

Provides support and assistance to Career Link initiatives, including relationship building with industries and initiating calls with Career Link staff to identify workforce needs, offer appropriate programming and set-up Achieve Your Degree (AYD) and similar partnerships.

Ensures all K-12 partners have dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities leading to workforce aligned outcomes including high value degrees and credentials.

Meets regularly with other higher education leaders in the service area to ensure seamless transfer agreements and workforce alignment towards high demand careers in the service area.

Meets regularly with community leaders to ensure the site is aligned with economic development and educational initiatives of the community.

In partnership with development staff, provides leadership in fundraising efforts to meet college, campus and site needs in the local community.

Assists Chancellor and campus leadership with the coordination of site marketing and communications functions.

Coordinates Instructional Technology activities for the site.

Collaborate with Vice Chancellor of Finance in the development and administration of budgets for the site, and determines priorities for expenditures.

In coordination with campus facilities leadership, provides facilities management for the site.

Serves on local and statewide committees associated with job functions, or representing the College as needed.

Serving as a model for strong leadership, develops and supports the Campus culture of team collaboration and commitment to delivering high quality services and outcomes, by being student- and employee-centered.

Collaborates with campus leadership to implement the College strategic plan across the campus service area. Executes strategic initiatives and resource allocation at a local level to achieve college-wide and campus-level metrics.

Creates and maintains an environment where planning, development, and delivery of services for students occur in a creative and effective manner that fosters cultural and global awareness.
