Full time starting salary is normally in the range £28,397 to £30,210, with potential progression once in post to £33,938

Grade: 5

Role Summary

At the University of Birmingham, students are at the heart of all we do. You will join a professional services team which is passionate about providing excellent administration support for students and staff. 

Duties may vary between teams, but you will have the opportunity to contribute or take a lead in all aspects of administration supporting the delivery of our teaching and research programmes for students. 

You will work closely with a diverse group of people including managers, academic staff and students to deliver the annual cycle of teaching and learning related activity.

There are two Senior Education Support Administrator (SESA) roles are based in the School of English, Drama and Creative Studies (EDACS). There are 4 SESAs based in the team, who each oversee tasks in a specific area. The SESAs are responsible for the academic processes within their area, including but not limited to; assessments, optional module preference, general enquiries and programme administration

Senior Education Support Administrator for College of Arts and Law Graduate School - 1.0 FTE (Permanent)

This Senior Education Support Administrator role is based in the Graduate School within the College of Arts and Law. The team consists of one Team Manager (grade 6), three Senior Education Support Administrators (grade 5), and one Education Support Administrator (grade 4). This role will have responsibility for the progression of Postgraduate Research students, including all related administration. This will involve working closely with both students and academic colleagues, ensuring meetings are scheduled and held in time, and all paperwork is completed to a high standard.

The post holder will also be expected to take responsibility for the processing of student forms related to supervisions and absence, to be involved in the planning and review of processes integral to the team, as well as getting involved in wider College projects and initiatives.
